"Dear Admin & Staff, my mother is currently under your care at Beechwood in Amherst, NY. I want to say how glad our family is that she is being well-cared-for. In particular, we are happy that the staff PT is/are able to begin her rehab, so that she will soon be able to be on her feet again (albeit, using a walker), and hopefully be home in time for her 95th birthday at the end of January. My sisters and I are grateful for the care and attention of your nursing staff. Although I cannot visit mom- I live in Japan- my sister sends me reports each day. “The care that my mother received while at Beechwood was exemplary. Considering the pandemic and its ramifications, I thank God that my mom was there throughout that period. “This is embarrassingly overdue, but no less heartfelt.
I want to thank each and every one of you for the care you provided to my father in his last years of life. Your kindness, compassion, and care for him and for me cannot be overstated. More importantly, the remarkable patience you showed when dealing with all of his idiosyncrasies was nothing short of amazing. Everything from his food likes and dislikes, complaints about the temperature, TV, blankets, etc. were not easy to hear about day after day, and yet you all “handled” him perfectly.
In my 40 years of nursing in all areas of the health care industry, I know that caring for the elderly in a skilled facility requires the utmost in cognitive and emotional skill. I am grateful that my father and I were recipients of that from you. Not every facility can make that claim.
I will, forever, keep each of you in my prayers each night. God bless all of you: Nurses, Aides, Social Workers, Spiritual Care, Activities, Housekeeping, Dietary, Engineering and Administrative staff.”
